At what moment does a person experience their first true memory. Psychologist Sigmund Freud was the first to believe that many people do not start to remember events until the age of three. To not remember events before the age of three is very common among many people. The process of lost early memories is called infantile amnesia. Freud claimed that the loss of early memories was due to repression, which is an active forgetting of early experiences because of their heavily charged psychosexual content. While other psychologist have theories that infantile amnesia happens because there is an absence of language. While my parents were attending school, I was between the age of one and three years old. The most prominent memory I have is when I went to a park with my daycare. I remember how tall the trees looked and how they surrounded the playground equipment, and all the different children running to one piece of equipment to the next. Most importantly I remember the single tall slide that was slightly secluded from the rest of the playground. This slide looked like a castle and I was bound and determined to slide down the slide that was made for a princess like myself. However, my babysitter, Linda, would not let me go down alone because I would have been around the age of two or three. The next memory I have happened in our apartment. My parents told me I could not have any Girl Scout cookies, so being the little trouble maker I was I climbed into the cupboard and started eating the cookie in secret. Of course, when my parents found me I started to cry because I knew I was going to get in trouble. The last memory I want to discuss happened at our apartment as well, but this time it was outside on the little playground just outside our sliding doors. The playground was most make up of wooden stairs and platforms with a single silver slide. My mom was chasing me around as I was scrambling up and down the stairs trying to keep out of her grasped. She later was
