As an ISTJ leader, I embody the traits of being dependable, responsible, and detail oriented. I strive to create a structured and organized work environment where efficiency and productivity thrive. My knowledge and experience have continued to develop since Unit 3, ‘Communicating like a Leader’, allowing me to further refine my leadership style.
I have investigated and accepted the tools SCARF (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, Fairness) and NVC (Nonviolent Communication) in order to become the leader I wish to be. NVC places a strong emphasis on compassionate and effective communication, fostering empathy and human connection. I can foster an environment of empathy, active listening, and mutual respect by implementing NVC principles into my leadership style.
The acquisition and use of SCARF (Status, Certainty, Autonomy, Relatedness, Fairness) and NVC (Nonviolent Communication) techniques can fundamentally mold me as the leader I aim to be. Understanding and applying these strategies in my own life allows me to develop a leadership style that promotes efficient communication, fosters solid connections, and serves the different requirements of my team members.
In terms of SCARF, I would use this approach to foster an environment in which employees feel appreciated and motivated. To promote autonomy, I would provide individuals the ability to make decisions and exert control over their job wherever possible. I can build a culture of independent problem-solving by delegating duties, allowing employees to take responsibility of their initiatives, and fostering inventive thinking.
Relatedness, the fourth component of SCARF, is critical in developing strong team relationships. I would actively promote teamwork, collaboration, and open communication among team members. I may establish a friendly and inclusive work atmosphere by providing opportunities for social contact, team-building events, and developing a sense of camaraderie. This sense of belonging and connectedness boosts morale, fosters teamwork, and eventually leads to increased productivity and job satisfaction.
The third component of SCARF is fairness, which is the foundation of my leadership philosophy I would make certain that all team members are treated fairly and impartially.
