Essay On My Writing Experience

For as long as I can remember I have loved to read. Though I was never in the advanced reading classes before fifth grade and was even in the lowest in kindergarten and first grade, it has always entertained and inspired me. Along with reading, I love writing. I didn’t really start to write very often until my eighth grade year. My freshman year my writing frequency boomed. I wrote around the clock, filling up notebook after notebook in between classes, down time in classes, and of course at home. I have continued to write and refine my work since then.
I enjoy pretty much all other forms of art as well, including music. I have taken private piano and vocal lessons and had the opportunity to participate in the high school choir three of my …show more content…

My sister and I had the opportunity to work out of state for six weeks at a summer camp for special needs people as counselors. Every week we got a new set of new campers and would interact, most often, one on one with them, helping with whatever they needed. This included being their friend, helping with art projects, keeping track of them, and sometimes changing depends showering them, and much more. We spent our entire week with them, including nights. This was a very changing experience for me. I learned a lot about myself, including strengths and weaknesses, and how to get along with coworkers that don’t have the same point of view as you. I am proud of this work experience because most people my age have not had anything like it. We were not paid much, but it was rewarding work and I plan on going back next summer.
Even though I have had the opportunity to work a lot, I am still worried about how I will pay for college. Right after my freshman year, my family moved to a different state to start farming. We pretty much started completely over, and that is not always the easiest thing to do. At the stage we are in right now, we do not have much money to go around and I already have another sister in college and a brother who will be starting within the next five years.
