The concept of net neutrality can make equality between peoples’ internet service and prevent carries from blocking or slowing down websites. If net neutrality comes to an end, carries will raise prices knowing many customers cannot afford the new prices. Therefore, they either spend extra money to get faster service or continue to be left behind. The internet has become very important to many and gives people the freedom to do whatever they want. The justification is only that companies are money hungry, and they do not care about others circumstances. I agree that we should have net neutrality to make sure no one is being taking advantage of in the process and that we are continuing to make everyone equal.
The point of having net neutrality is to make sure nobody is getting cheated out of their money, nor taking advantage of. There would be many effects of ending net neutrality. An article written in the New York Times stated, “The end of net neutrality will allow Mr. Pai’s former employer to extract higher profits without returning better service to the American people.” (Brenner) The only reason prices would go up is so that companies are making more revenue. The internet should be like fast food restaurants, everyone should be treated the same. No one person should be left out or treated different wrong because of a price tag. Customers going into fast food restaurants expect to get their food fast and the same timing as everyone else. Nobody should be treated differently and have to pay more because they want their food faster. If you take away net neutrality then customers will no longer be treated equally and they will be paying extra money for unnecessary fees.
