I grew up in the town by the name of cats which is located in upstate New York. Growing up several law young men and women really teenagers commit crimes of the sheer act of stupidity. Overall these may have been young kids good kids are being a little misguided to get caught up in the criminal justice system which does them no favors. Send them off juvenile detention centers where they stay until 18 to go to prison to serve out the remainder of their time. Most of the times those individuals are worse off may get out and usually Churchill life of crime and wind up back in jail. I saw it time and time again. And here we are many years later nothing has changed. I have decided to develop a community program, restorative approach to dealing with our juveniles in Green County New York. It will be titled the Greene County restorative Justice initiative for the youth of today.

There are many agencies that can be referring such as the court system, schools, and law enforcement officials. Ultimately it will be up to the victims whether or not they wish to participate.
Services Provided: hen youth are found to be eligible for the program then and only then will they partake in the restorative justice process. The selected individuals will go through family group counseling or victim offender mediation.
What is family group conferencing? Family group conferencing which was specifically designed for juveniles brings the use support network into the fold. This could be the parents other siblings grandparents very close friends that come together and make important decisions that will be the best interests of the troubled youth.
