Nowadays, sexual assault is becoming a high concentrated problem which focused by society. According to the research, there is an average of 293,066 victims (age 12 or older) of rape and sexual assault each year (1). So what is sexual assault and how can we prevent it? In America, the definition of sexual assault is different in different state because there is no common law for sexual assault in the United States, but The National Center for Victims of Crime states (2) ”sexual assault can takes many kinds including attacks such as rape or attempted rape, as well as any sexual contact or threats violate party’s want. These sexual activities are imposed upon them by someone they know (a friend, date, acquaintance, etc.).(4) Because most college students are just living without their parents’ control, but they are lack of the self-control and distinguish abilities, they will find it is really a different world than what they experienced before because of more kind of people and more new things than they knew, that all will be the factors to impact their college life. So some of them may go some places not right and make some friends not good. They may drink alcohols although they are underage and even use some drugs by others instigating or just out of curiosity. This situation will lead them to have a potential criminal possibility and let them to have a higher risk of injury than others. Because they will out of mind in some times, and it will let them do some thins they want to do but will not to do when they are sober. So, they may assault their friends, date or someone else.
Secondly, stranger sexual assault is also a kind of high percentage assault in college. Like what I said, college campus is a place where have higher population than other places, so diverse kind of people are all in this area, it must involved some people who have the probability to assault others. Try to think when they find some young people are walking
