College athletes do not get paid enough for the sport that they play. College athletes do not get paid by the NCAA or their colleges to play their sport, They only get paid very little by the NIL and from things they sell like merchandise. College athletes should be paid because that sport is their job, they do get profit from some things like merchandise, but not enough to support themselves, and colleges profit from their athletes so the athletes should get money too. Colleges profit unfairly from their athletes. Colleges should be paying their athletes because they are promoting their college. It shows that college athletes cannot juggle a job and sports. All the time college athletes have is used to play sports and will not allow them to have a job. Also, College athletes should be paid because they contribute to their college. College athletes contribute a lot to their college, “College sports bring in tremendous amounts of money. Football, basketball, and baseball, in particular, generate billions of dollars a year for colleges in ticket sales, merchandise sales, and advertisements”(Helpfulprofessor.com).
