Since the beginning of NCAA athletes have poured their blood, sweat and tears into the sport they are passionate about. Its always about the love of the game, who out works the other and many of sacrifices to be a student athlete at the collegiate level. When athletes reach their goal to enter in the collegiate level it becomes more like a business, and their job is win games and championships which ultimately brings profits to these universities. Over the years people including the athletes have debated upon the issue on whether college athletes should be paid. According to the NCAA A Division I athlete can not join any school clubs or join any other sport. If they were to join a club they would miss many club meetings due to practice and games. NCAA takes away the college life of a student athlete which is unfair. Being in college and having the college experience is what many college students would like to take on. Student athletes feel left out on not being able to join clubs or special activities the school holds. Since they are always on the road or always in practice they don’t have enough time to interact with other students or know what the school has to offer. If athletes were paid it would give them an opportunity to find time to relax and go out on vacations. Athletes are always traveling to games or championships which could be in different states. When traveling to these games athletes spend hours on busses or train to get to their destinations. When it comes to choosing what college, athletes want to study for they don’t have a lot of options. They are forced to take majors that don’t mess with practice times. They are sometimes put in classes that have nothing to do with their majors. They are put into these classes because they are the only ones that fit into their practice schedules. The NCAA gets paid for these college athletes so why should they keep the money if they aren’t the ones doing the hard work. Another ay that they also earn money is selling shirts and jerseys using the players number. What makes this unfair is that the athletes jersey number can be sold on shirts and other attire, but they don’t receive the money. The NCAA has rules that college athletes are not allowed to sell their own attire which is one way how the NCAA makes money off them. Another way they make money is when a team leads their school to National Championships and the tickets sold at these events. The NCAA uses its players to make millions of dollars but don’t give a single penny out to the athletes who deserve
