Within organizations, the ethics programs are designed to assist with guiding and making sure that individuals within the organization are aware. The ethics program may consist of values, code of conduct, mission, and vision that plays a pivotal role in order to get to the overall goal of accomplishing the goal for the organization. In most cases, the organization's ethics program may vary due to each organization being a different environment. The goals of organizations may vary based upon the organization as well. The organizations must understand that each individual that makes up the organization are all different in some type of way. Some key essential elements that are needed in the organization consist of; structure, board or committee, training, helpline or hotline and communication just to name a few. The structure will allow each individual to know how things will work and be handled within the organization. Having a board or committee that allows individuals to come up with ideas, and plans of how to move forward. Training within the organization the individuals will receive information on issues, concerns, and certifications on how to build an effective organization. The helpline/hotline will allow workers or players of the organization to call in and report issues or concerns and even seek advice. The employee or team player can report anonymous. Through communication, each individual will be able to talk things out, work things out, and solve the issues together. Ruddell’s text Business Ethics That Works (2004) text teaches elements that should is: “code of conduct, communications, ongoing training, understand how to report the problem, teach the group how to investigate”. In most cases in the sports industry, players may yell across the court to make the player aware of a change. In sports, ethical sportsmanship players play with a level head but must understand respect is respect. Sports ethics may change by coaches or owners. Meanwhile, sports focus on the short-term and not the long-term plan. In sports, players are taught that sportsmanship is key. In the business industry, individuals work toward long-term vision, goals, missions, and code of conduct. Furthermore, in sports players are taught that don’t have to do wrong for wrong to get better than the next person. In businesses individuals backstab, betray friends, team players, and leaders just to get to the top. Individuals in the business world will inform others of the higher authority of unethical issues too but not go to the person doing it. In the business of manufacture, individuals must abide by the dress code, integrity, and committed duties. In sports, most of their duties are the same and their goal is to win the game by playing fair. In sports, players may trade to other teams but the teammates don't publicly disown their teammate or their decision. The player may have their opinion about it but ESPN doesn’t announce it about. When it comes to sports and businesses the sports industry rules are monitored to make sure all is the same
