I would like to solve the imperfections our society has, and ultimately the inadequacies, and shortcomings that humans inherently have. The most evident manifestation of such imperfection are physiological, and anatomical genetic scourges we have. Everything from apparent defects such as ectopia cordis, heart on the outside, to being genetically inclined to get cancer. There are of course psychological problems that we face such as schizophrenia, and sociopathy, the latter being extremely detrimental to our society. Then there are things which we don't even think about, such as creating our own enclaves within larger groups, we know them as nations. What sense does it make to have so many nations? No one wants to grow old, and die, or at least no one doesn't want the option of it not occurring. We should cure to aging to give people a choice as to whether, or not they wish to live indefinitely. The former examples of things we regard as disease can be cured through genetic engineering, it could have already been done to a certain degree if the world adopted a eugenics plan, an ethical one of course, not the nazi pseudo eugenics we saw, and not the racist eugenics in america during the 20th century, no proper eugenics with the goal of ridding us of disease that causes pain, and suffering. Genetic engineering is the future though, it can be done within a generation, it can do more, we can target with much greater precision, and resolution as to what we want to change about ourselves. Personally I see a future where everyone has what we consider a genius level iq, where everyone can live forever, where we can easily adapt to our environment such as changing the melanin content in our skin, or the size of our bodies. Where we have superb reflexes, currently nerve impulses travel at around 80m/s, but lets imagine if it was a 1000 m/s or 2000
