I like the Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice (JHNEBP) model, because it is a powerful problem-solving approach to clinical decision-making, and it has user-friendly tools to guide. For this week’s discussion post I will identify a situation where evidence-based practice has been applied in my workplace. Evidence-based guidelines are put in place and into practice after research has been completed. This helps with intertwining practice and research and are established by professional organizations, government agencies, institutions, or expert panels (LoBiondo-Wood & Haber, 2014). While working in that facility I truly saw what it meant to be short staffed. The nursing care issue that I have identified is short staffing and mandatory overtimes.
