Anagarika Dharmapala once stated that "The Theory of Evolution was one of the ancient teachings of the Buddha." Buddhists have accepted this way of belief as their own.
Although Mahayana Buddhists tend to believe that the world has no beginning and no end, and that it has been created millions of times, as the religion has progressed over the years, they have come to accept the theory of evolution.
The Theory of Evolution is the theory that things change over time. It mentions that all species were created at the same time, and many have progressed from there. Darwin believed “Life on earth has changed as descendants diverged from common ancestors in the past.”
Darwin’s theory states that this world is only 6000 years old. The Buddhists believe that this world has been created millions of times, but this earth is only 6000 years old. Some scientific evidence proves that nearly a dozen natural phenomenas conflict with the evolutionary idea that the universe is billions of years old. Not only do scientists and buddhists believe in this, Christians and Jews also stand by the fact that the earth is 6000 years old. …show more content…

This whole idea started when Darwin decided to go on a voyage in 1831. He was 22 years old, and he had set out on a scientific expedition. He was considered the “naturalist” on the ship, and therefor it was his job to observe and collect specimens. He observed plants, animals, rocks, and fossils wherever the expedition went on shore.
Darwin spent almost all of his time aboard the ship observing specimens. He found that it was quite fascinating. While he was away, a teacher published his data, from all his observations. When he returned from his five year journey at sea, he had become
