In hero's journey a quote shows about mentors, “Heroes are almost started on their journey by a character who has mastered the laws of the outside world and come back to bestow this wisdom upon them.” That is how The Lightning Thief is compared to hero's journey.
At the beginning of the story, if Percy would have realized he had powers inside, he would’ve used them. For example, Percy was faced with his first test when his pre-algebra teacher turned into a repulsive monster and attacked him. Instead of handling the problem himself, he received assistance from his disabled French teacher, Mr. Brunner. The author may have made Mr. Brunner disabled to represent the fact that people not originally perceived to be powerful, can be powerful.

It was on this day Percy encounters multiple strange events which leads him to the discovery that he is a half-blood: half-human, half-god. After this discovery, Percy is taken to Camp Half-Blood, a camp for kids who are also half Greek god. Such as his mother. He is intelligent because he makes plans throughout the story to get to the right places. For example, Percy makes plans, like the buses they will take, to get them where they need to be. And since he knows all the possible routes, he also assists Grover and Annabeth along the way. For example, Toward the end of the story Percy, “told Annabeth and Grover how to get back to Half-Blood Hill and let Chiron know what had happened.”
Percy is very strong emotionally and he always makes sure that his friends and family are safe. When Grover was captured and sent to Polyphemus, Percy knew that he had to go and save him as well as retrieve the golden fleece so he could save everyone at camp. Percy cares about his friends and he will be willing to do the right thing and save them even if it means he gets in trouble. Percy Jackson wasn't
In the ethereal tapestry of Renaissance Florence, where love was but a pawn in the intricate game of power and alliances, Giovanni and Lusanna dared to traverse the treacherous terrain of passion. In this unforgiving landscape, where rigid gender roles held sway, their affair blossomed, challenging the very fabric of societal norms. Gene Brucker, the master chronicler, weaves a tale of profound complexity in his meticulous compilation of court documents. Through his discerning eye, the audience is invited to peer into the depths of this intricate case, where the clash of social classes and the weight of gender expectations obscure the truth. In the novel Giovanni and Lusanna, Love and Marriage in Renaissance Florence, Brucker’s narrative

For example, in chapter 1 page 9 the text states, “I don’t remember touching her but the next thing I knew, Nancy was sitting on her butt in the fountain screaming,”Percy pushed me!” ” It seems that Percy’s powers responded to his actions as he somehow pushed Nancy Bobofit into the water. Through application of Joseph Campbell’s Hero Cycle, Percy’s development as a leader over the course of “The Lightning Thief” can be analyzed (Campbell). Percy is born into the hero’s cycle at his natural birth and his call to adventure is the attack by Mrs. Dodds. Percy crosses the threshold, when he leaves Montauk with his mother and Grover and the first trial testing his leadership is on the bus with the furies. Trials exemplifying Percy’s growth include: the furies, Medusa, the Saint Louis Arch, the “Waterland” Waterpark, the Lotus Hotel, Crusty’s Waterbed Palace, and Hades and the Underworld.
Percy is also gifted with several semi-divine abilities such as the ability to manipulate water and currents, enhanced strength and senses while being near water, ability to breath underwater, mental communication with marine animals and horses(since horses were created by Poseidon) and creates small earthquakes and hurricanes.
