There are many examples of “bad” science in the movie The Core. Bad science is pretty much fictional representations of science. Bad science is considered bad science because it contains things that are physically impossible, or as of now, and with the technology in the movie, would have been impossible. In the movie the core, the first example of bad science, is the idea that the Earth's core has stopped rotating and that they could restart it themselves. It was believed, in the movie, that humans had caused the anomaly due to their major earthquakes they were purposely causing to fight other countries. The first thing to point out as bad science, would be the idea that humans themselves could stop the earth’s rotation. Human’s do not have enough power themselves to stop a planet from rotating or taking away it’s gravity. Speaking of gravity, that brings one to another aspect of fake science within the movie. …show more content…

Gravity can not be stopped by any power a human could possibly possess. First off, the only known force stronger than gravity, is dark energy. Even though dark energy is stronger, it still does not completely just stop gravity. Dark energy is the opposite force of gravity, similar to that of magnets. When one turns magnets backwards, they push away from each other. This is what gravity and dark energy do. Dark energy is far stronger than gravity, but there is not as much dark energy as there is gravity. If for some reason a catastrophic event happened and more dark energy was produced, then it would easily be able to over power gravity, but even then gravity would still be present; just like dark energy is still present even though one does not feel it. Realistically, the only way to “stop” gravity, would be to figure out how to increase the amount of dark energy (Astronomy, Exploring the Universe, Amy
