Harry Potter, Frodo Baggins and katniss everdeen all share one important trait, and that’s courage. However courage is not restricted to fictional characters, 99.9% of us probably did something courageous in our lives, whether it's going to a new school or standing up for a friend. Courage is be so powerful that it can change the world. This quote “well behaved women seldom make history” To me means that you won't get any where special without courage. Rosa park stood up for what was right. Amelia earhart had courage to continue with her dream even when others oppose. All that took a lot of courage. There's always going to be bullies, criminals and just the bad and the unfair. We can’t change that, but courage gives us an edge against all of this. With all this talk, what does courage even mean? Well, we need to identify different types of courage, three to be exact. Physical, intellectual/ emotional and social/moral. Physical courage: risks of one's own life and/limb for a greater cause than themselves. Social/moral: The courage to do something when the constituencies involve social hardships. Intellectual/emotional: Facing the truth even when though and risk mistakes. With courage as our main theme, we read two books over the summer, Facing the lion and Bridge to terabithia.
