Forensic science technicians aid investigations by collecting and testing evidence. Many technicians spend time either in a laboratory or on the field in crime scene investigation.

Being a Forensic Science Technician is not an easy job, you have to be able to work under pressure and in high stress environments. A lot of what Forensic Technicians do is complicated, such as, obtaining evidence from crime scenes, collecting fingerprints to find the suspect or suspects, finding someones cause of death and what weapons were used to kill them and a lot more. It is a tedious job that deals with hours in the office, frustrating dead ends, and sometimes no leads to who the suspect is. The work environment for Forensic Technicians changes day by day.

Forensic Scientists are scientist who gather evidence to test and solve a criminal case. You must meet a minimum of 6 requirements to even consider the field; one must be a U.S. citizen, hold a valid driver 's license, be at least 19 (21 in some cases), have no prior convictions or arrests for felonies, domestic violence or serious misdemeanors, have a high school diploma or GED, have a minimum of two years public-contact work experience, prior law enforcement service or military service. This does not include the mental and physical stability you must have. Forensic Science is not something anyone and everyone is cut out for but it is something worth going into if that is your interest. It’s a career path that is forever evolving and changing the course of history.

During this essay I will discuss what the disadvantages and what the advantages of forensic testing are. I will also talk about how forensic testing is carried out. Forensic testing is used to identify an individual by using the DNA sequences of that person.
Crime has been at its highest this year. Forensic science has played a major part in investigating crimes and searching for evidence that is not seen by the naked eye(Dillon). The field of forensics is continually growing, causes of death have become more interesting, autopsies are more critical, and the salary is appreciable(Gewin). Since there are only 18 forensic science undergraduate programs in the US that have been authorized by the American Academy of Forensic Science, my prospective college choices are limited. After tackling the time it will take to earn my bachelors in forensics(4 years), then finish medical school and four years of residency, it will eventually all be worth the wait.
As a digital forensic investigator, I was assigned to a case where my expertise where needed. My role in the investigation was to search the suspects digital evidence to help find more helpful information and advance the case. Overall my job as a digital forensic investigator was to recover and analyse the digital evidence so that it could be used in the criminal prosecution. Approach to Case My method of investigating a case was using a systematic approach as this is the accepted procedure to follow.
