In the movie Monsters Inc, there are many examples of different characters who use ethics throughout the story. Throughout the story, there are many examples of the principles of ethics, some good, and some bad. The movie Monsters Inc. starts out in a factory, the people who work at this factory are monsters who go into different doors and scare children. The main characters Sully and Randall are the best monsters at this company and are in constant companionship about who is the best monster. One day, after work, Randall is scaring children to try to get his scare score up even though he was not supposed to. While he was scaring one of the children, he decided to take Boo. By sneaking into the factories, Randall breaks many unethical principles including loyalty, integrity, fairness, honesty, reputation, and morals. This action is also illegal. It was breaking the law when Randall used prohibited methods to get more scares. Randall did not use the ethical decision-making process. When Randall faced an issue of how to get more scared, he identified the problem and collected the facts but did not use the process at that point. He did not explore the options, instead, he just used an unethical option when instead he could have looked at different ways that were ethical to get more scares. In conclusion, Randall did not make an ethical decision when he snuck in the past hours to get Boo. Instead of considering his other options, he chose an unethical decision that had consequences. Randall's actions had negative results that could have been avoided if he used the ethical decision-making process instead of choosing not to.
