Romeo trusts Friar Laurence and is willing to ask him this despite the fact he might get executed. To continue, he considers the union of the two families “Friar Laurence, despite his reservations, admits that perhaps the marriage of Romeo and Juliet could serve ‘to turn [their] households’ rancor to pure love.’” (2.3.4). This is significant because he was willing to wed Romeo and Juliet for the sake of their families. This helps Romeo and Juliet’s love story and helps to convince the families that they belonged to each other in the end. This shows that Friar Laurence cares about Romeo and his family, willing to risk his life, despite continuing to marry them for the sake of their
