This means when you think all is lost don’t give up and keep pushing yourself even when things are rough. This pertains to “The Giver” because at the end of the story Jonas starts to give up on trying to make his way to elsewhere but then has hope for him and Gabe and believes that they can make it. In the end of “The Giver,” Jonas and Gabriel survived because they either made it to elsewhere, circled back around, or was found by people. Therefore, Jonas and Gabriel circled back around to their community and survived. At the end of the book “The Giver” Jonas and Gabe circled around back to his community and Jonas started to gather his memories again. When Jonas and Gabe reached the top of the hill and Jonas saw a sled and slid down, it was just like his memory the giver gave him. In the book when Rosemary asked for release her memories she received went to the people so when Jonas left, his memories went to the people and when he circled around and started to gather them again. At the end of the book “The Giver” Jonas could have fainted because he said he heard music but it could be a echo so he could have been fainting and there were people around. Jonas and Gabe fainted because in their long journey they didn’t have very much food and not very clean water. While Jonas was going down the hill he said he heard people singing and knew they were waiting for him and Gabe at the bottom of the
