Introduction In the last couple decades there has been a stir that has arised in the presence of college sports: should college athletes be paid? There are many controversial topics and discussions that takes place when talking about whether or not college athletes should be paid? The answer to this question is very difficult and will be argued continuously for many years. It has been an idea ever since sports have existed in college. These topics have many different opinions based on people’s different backgrounds, beliefs, and economic status. In fact, one controversial topic consists that these students get paid in different ways, for instance they do get free education already and many other things paid for them. This brings up even more questions, as some sports bring in a lot of income like basketball and football. USA Today stated, “only a few sports tend to bring in money. As throughout the world, things operate differently causing various opinions. In addition, it affects some people more than others, as for most people or subcultures more specifically, it has zero relevance to their life causing them to not care as much. Also, some view this as sexist, when considering that the big income producers are mostly male sports, it would mean they would get paid a lot more. On a bigger more touchy scale, has to deal with races. As most of the athletes while talking about the main sports are African American which means they would be making most the money. There are many issues and problems when pertaining to this question, making it extremely hard for the NCAA to choose what to do or decide.
