Why Women Should not be paid the same as men in sports According to “Reuters.com”, The men’s World Cup has received a staggering 1.5 billion viewers, compared to the women’s World Cup which only received 82.18 million viewers in 2019. The teams that play these sports are split into 2 sides, a men’s side, and a women's side. While the 2 divisions that play these sports are similarly the same, the skill levels and viewership can be very different. Some like to watch women's sports, while others do not. These drastic differences are the reason why women should receive the same pay and support as men. Men’s viewership is extremely high than women’s viewership. Women should not be paid similarly due to their viewership. According to “playtoday.co” there were 11.64 million people watching the men’s NBA final while only 1.64 million people watched the WNBA final. In the article, men can be much more violent and make games much faster and more appealing to viewers. According to “Dailynewshungary.com” Men by nature are more competitive, more dominant, and have victory over anything. This proves that men being more violent and dominant can cause interest in the game rather than watching women running around slowly without any action. Furthermore, men can be much more confident as they are not as scared as women are. For example, according to “soccerinteraction.com” men mostly have greater self-confidence in terms of sporting ability. Women may lack confidence due to a lack of sporting opportunities or are scared of getting hurt. This proves that men are more confident and are willing to take risks.
