FBI Ethics Overall The FBI has made several mistakes. They have already done one study that should have reviewed many cases that are in the current study. How much was missed?
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI Agent) Associate Dean once said “It just dispelled all of the bad things I’d ever heard about the FBI… that the FBI was sneaky and out to get people.” The career of the FBI agent is a remarkable and exciting career, because of the endless possibility of helping the world get better in any kind of way . The research will describe the career of Federal Bureau of Investigation , what is required to become a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent a successful career and the impact this career has on has on society.
Both are similar to the core values of the FBI as presented by Cronkhite (2013) in that they expect officer to be professional. The mission and values of the KPD go even farther and acknowledges and accepts the fact that police officer are held to a higher standard than the public. Both of the agencies examined include points that are part of the Canons of Police Ethics from the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) (Cronkhite, 2013). The KPD mission and values statement specifically references that an officer should conduct his private life in a manner that does not reflect poorly on his profession as does Article 6 of the canons of Police Ethics (Cronkhite, 2013). The same qualities and standard listed in Article 7 are also part of both departments’ statements.
Leaders in the corrections departments are the ones who are advanced in ethical decision making and also has an influence on supporting ethical actions among their squads or units. These leaders should maintain an environment of a higher standard in respect, ethics and morality among all correction officers. In this environment, officers should be aware of ethical issues that are going on rather formal or informal conversations. It’s important to create a positive environment and a trusting relationship among the correction officers so they feel that they can confide in each other about the job or situations that come with this
These guidelines help the officers in ethical decision making in hopes to eliminate undesired behavior and encourage ethical practices. “The codes of ethics are specific provisions promoting the safeguarding of lives and property, the importance of avoiding bias and the understanding that the badge is a symbol of the public trust (Roufa 2014).” These core values must promote a culture that encourages the open discussion of ethical dilemmas and the use of a fair process to resolving ethical conflicts and conducting research. The responsibility even lies on appellate and trial courts, public and prosecution defender offices; parole and probation agencies; custodial institutions and departments responsible for all the functions.
Working in the field of law enforcement and being ethically sound is important. It is important within our professional career that we are able to maintain a standard that doesn’t cross any ethical lines. Even in our academic we have to hold ourselves to an ethical standard, because we are trusted to do what is right. If we violate the academic integrity it put a mark on our ability to be trusted. Just as Dr. Steven Davis stated if someone is will to cheap to get ahead how can they be trusted

I constantly demonstrate the FBI’s core values such as compassion, fairness, leadership and respect in a day to day basis. I show compassion because I put other people’s needs before mine. Whenever I see someone upset I try to help them in anyway possible because I have empathy and it naturally comes to me to help them out. When I was younger and my mom would look upset, but she wouldn't tell me why, I still felt upset for her because it would hurt to see her angry. Whenever my friends are in trouble, I am usually the first to try to find out how I can help and tell them that I am there to lean on if they need me.

A career in policing requires an individual to meet a high standard for character and demonstrated behavior, in order to be developed into an effective officer. Succeeding in a police academy requires the candidate to display and apply integrity, a skill which must be developed before receiving admission. Integrity demonstrated through a police officer’s personal life, provides the foundation for a respected career. When presented with the opportunity to leverage a peace officer’s position for personal profit, an individual who has previously made selfless choices, is more reliable for operating within the law. Integrity as a term has the social implication of following ones beliefs, regardless of the opposition.
Ethical leaders As we see changes in the way of policing, ethical leadership and behavior is becoming more challenging for law enforcement officers. Police officers should be ethical leaders committed to the law and professional standards. Police officers with ethical leadership posses a philosophical moral foundation and his/her actions and decisions will be based on that; many officers may face challenges or difficulties while trying to adapt to the new way of policing, especially when working with unethical peers. With this being said there are specific characteristics in addition to strong ethical and moral values that can successful develop ethical leaders.

Officers who come across situations where they are unsure what is morally and ethically best to do often turn to their peers for assurance and guidance. Good ethical behavior can easily be influenced by officers and those in law enforcement.
