I could imagine this heavy homework load initially would be very discouraging, as a medical student. The students want to have hands on experience, but before they can learn through touch, they must learn the basics through reading. Other stress factors I noticed during the film is the strain on relationships. Yes, the homework load is overwhelming, especially when you try and manage a boyfriend/girlfriend, children, and friends.
Overall, I believe the assignments were a glimpse into what to expect in later semesters, especially with how overbearing tasks will be especially in my
In terms of effort, I fill my schedule with the most demanding classes I can manage. I wish I had started at the school earlier to gain a better knowledge of the honors and AP classes, but ever since
Since it’s an AP class, I expect there to be plenty of work. I’m not saying I like to do school work, but I think this class and the things I learn from it will be worth it. I know colleges will have plenty of work for me, so this will prepare me and build up my work ethic. I am doing this summer homework because I think it will be worth my time to take the class and do more work. As long as there I can see the significance and purpose to the things I do, I am willing to do the work.
However, others argue that a large amount of homework can cause students to undergo stress and cause their test scores to decrease. Researchers at Stanford University have showed us that “ 56 percent of students considered homework a primary source of stress” (Oxfordlearning.com, 2016). Another study showed that “too much homework can also result in less active learning, a type learning that occurs in context and encourages participation” (Oxfordlearning.com, 2016). Overall, there have been enough studies to prove that without a secure homework system by teachers, students have undergone loads of stress and suffered with the decrease of their testing
We have told our teachers time and time again how stressful such instances of homework are on our lives. We have told them of our predicaments with juggling school, home, sports, and free time. We have appealed to their instances of such oppression in their pasts. They too have been deaf to the troubles that grading homework has imposed upon them. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, that the eradication of homework would benefit both teachers and
Globally, as many as 41% students spend 17 hours each week for doing college homework assignments. Another study, which compared the academic pressure among high school students and college students, said that unlike high school, students need to learn most of the syllabus outside the class to crack the semesters. Colleges or universities demand students to spend almost 8 hours in the class and attending lectures. Reports are that they are simultaneously assigned with academic assignments to test their expertise over the program they have selected. These homework assignments range from many types, and one cannot flunk one such paper; because it can influence their overall grade.
Homework takes too much time out of kids lives, it causes anxiety for students, and it’s not healthy. Even though some will argue that homework teaches kids time management, responsibility, and strategy skills, many sources show that they can learn these skills in other ways. Overall, homework is not necessary for students to be doing. Educators need to understand that kids have other things going on in their lives and homework is just too
An average student would spend hours on schoolwork a day, which can be very stressful. A high school student will use half of their day around school relation. Almost all elementary to high school students will likely to agree that homework should not be assigned. The majority of students complain about homework yet teachers don’t usually understand why. While homework gives benefits to students, unnecessary homework should not be assigned due to the fact that there are enough school hours, it consumes time, and the development of poor health is encouraged.
Homework, homework, homework. Homework causes hours of stress in young students’ lives. Homework should be lessened in high school and banned in grades below because it causes has an astronomical amount of cons compared to the pros. Homework will cause countless long-term complications and has numerous short-term struggles to go along with the buildup of stress that slowly gets enormous as the year advances. Homework can review previous content; on the other hand, it will cause more issues for the developing student than the review can help them learn content that they will soon forget in a couple days.
Homework is not truly beneficial because it has no proven academic benefits and causes unnecessary health issues. Homework has no proven academic benefit. First, the longer researchers track students academically, the less homework seems to be helpful. In Alfie Kohn´s article “The Value of Homework Needs Further Research,” researchers reviewed a study comparing 17 published reports of research projects that have lasted anywhere from two weeks to thirty weeks and concluded “The longer the duration of the study, the less impact homework had.” Even though this is a confined study, the results and conclusions still show signs that homework does not help students prosper and therefore has no academic benefit.
Everyone goes to school, everyone has homework. Homework has been a topic of interest for a very long time. Many students think that homework is not beneficial. However, without homework people wouldn’t remember what they learned in class. Homework gives kids the chance to prove what they have learned.
Above all, homework allows the students to gain responsibility, time-management, perseverance, and self-esteem. “The act of completing homework has benefits in terms of developing good habits in students.” This shows that, students are gaining many skills from homework. This also shows that, homework isn’t a waste of time and students do benefit from homework. “Homework also teaches students how to problem solve, think independently, and build an understanding and interest for the issues in our society.”
