Family Background
The family, which I have interviewed, was an Indo American family. The family includes the father, age 58, a mother, 52, and four children, whose ages are 17, 19, 21 and 23 respectively. The father and mother is the biological parent of all four children. Father works as a financial analyst at a company and the mother is a house wife. This family is from southern part of India. They migrated to the United States in the year 2004. After their marriage, they were looking for a baby boy. However they got three lovely girls. Father was so upset and he likes more to a baby boy. The main components of family health assessment questions are related to 1. Vales, Health Perception-Health Management Pattern, 2. Nutritional - Metabolic Pattern, 3. Elimination Pattern, 4. Activity - Exercise Pattern, 5. Sexuality - Reproduction Pattern, 6.Sleep - Rest Pattern, 7. Sensory - Perceptual Pattern, 8. Cognitive Pattern, 9. Role—Relationship Pattern, 10. Self-Perception-Self-Concept Pattern, 11. Coping-Stress Tolerance Pattern.
Values, health perceptions The reason of assessing the family’s value and health perception was to find out how the family perceives and manages their health. Identify is it in compliance with the past and current nursing and, medical advises are assessed. The family 's capability to identify the relationship between daily living activities and health is also determined.
Overall the family’s health is in a good condition. However the father had a type two diabetics, which is in the initial stage now. The mother had cholesterol and blood pressure. They feel the diabetic is related to their grandmother, she passed away due to diabetic at the age of 42. Mother had concerns about her cholesterol that is due to their diet, she uses to consume a lot of red meat and blood pressure is due her concerns about her children. They were living together so many years, and now they left for their studies far away from their home. She feels the anxiety about her daughters gives the blood
