Final Self-Assessment.
Managers play a defining role in shaping the careers and futures of the people around them. The manner in which a manager influences their employees can be long lasting and significant. There has been a fundamental shift in the priorities of the workforce. The millennial generation is energetic, values a work-life balance and is not afraid of untraditional work environments. While their flexibility is admirable, there is a tradeoff as compared to the baby boomers generation. Millennials are transitory, coming up with creative ways to engage and motivate workforce will be integral of my success as a manager. Before this class I had not been formally introduced to the theories and practices of organizational behavior. This class provided the framework of my understanding and challenged me to think critically about my management style.. I believe my weakness lies in that I have not been in a managerial position but am confident that by the time I finish the program, I will have the necessary tools to be an effective manager.
