Nurses who feel valued, empowered, and engaged in healthcare organizations drive positive change and enhance the quality of patient care. In addition to nurses making strides in healthcare by taking ownership and accountability for improved patient outcomes whilst meeting financial goals, they can also impact organizations through promoting health literacy. Dion et al. (2021) supports the idea that nurses often lack preparedness to assist patients in achieving financial literacy with education, training, and support. Financial literacy is identified to be a subset of health literacy (Dion et al., 2021). If health literacy improves health outcomes, the question arises: does financial literacy improve financial outcomes? Understanding and addressing the intersection of health and financial literacy can make nurses better leaders and increase fiscal responsibility in healthcare organizations. By being equipped with knowledge in both areas, nursing leaders can advocate for comprehensive patient care and optimize financial decision-making within healthcare institutions. As a result, early experiences with conflict can have a lasting impact on how an individual approaches and manages conflict in their adult lives (Victor, 2013). It is essential that leaders are competent at active listening and effective communication to successfully manage and resolve conflict (Victor, 2013; Kim et al., 2017). Research has consistently proven the importance of these skills in conflict resolution. Fortunately, it is possible to teach and develop these essential skills in leadership. In addition, research shows education on conflict resolution could significantly affect nursing professionals changing their management style (Kim et al., 2017). Conflict management is an essential skill for leaders, and when combined with the principles of leadership, it can lead to successful and supportive organizations. Wong et al. (2016) advocates that servant leaders empower their employees, lead by example, and respect the opinions and individuality of all. This leadership style can inspire and improve an organization and reduce conflict by improving relationships through feelings of respect and open communication (Wong et al., 2016).
