Bureaucracy in a simple term can be defined as a social system that relies on the rules and the procedures. The bureaucratic management has the hierarchical structure to help achieve the most rational and efficient operation at the lowest cost. In the late 1800s, Max Weber created the idea of bureaucratic management where organizations are more authoritative, rigid and structured. Weber believed that in informal organization of supervisors and employees inhibited the potential success of a company because power was misplaced. He felt that employees were loyal to their bosses and not to the organization. So bureaucratic management was created so that formal structure where rules, formal legitimate authority and competence were characteristics of appropriate management practices. He believed that a supervisor 's power should be based on an individual 's position within the organization, his or her level of professional competence and the supervisor 's adherence to explicit rules and regulations (Vectorstudy.com).The bureaucratic organizational structure was developed because the organization was becoming larger and its operations were getting more complex.
