This issue the writer addressed is about how employees not only have laptops and smartphones, they also have tablets, smart watches, fitness trackers and other Internet-enabled devices. With these Internet-enabled devices, employees can access companies’ networks and work data. The writer quotes others such as Jim Haviland, who is a chief strategy officer at VOX Mobile. Whom explains that companies can’t “ignore the crossover of personal mobile devices into work territory, especially when it comes to wearable tech. Rather than banning such devices from the office, employers will have to create a mature, realistic approach to data security and privacy.” (Fallon, 2015) He suggests that companies should create a company work policy outlining technology use, so that employees have a clear understanding.
