EDUCATION IS KING College education has always been very important to me. As we stumble through life, there lots of things, places and people we’ll going to meet. I once heard a lady say, they could take your money, house or car, but they can never take your education away. Education has the power to alter the way we live. In my essay, I’m going to elaborate on the benefits of higher education and what it means to me. I come from a family of five siblings, two brothers and two sisters. I was able to spend a few days with my oldest son, who’s a student at Columbia University. My son said, “dad did you ever consider finishing your degree, there lots of benefits”. He showed me an article about continuing education. The article “Benefits of Continuing Education” Web Education Corner”, Rising Numbers: which states, according to the Dept. of Ed., demand for continuing education adults of the ages 35 and older should grow by 7 percent by 2016. Some of the benefits are: A person with a degree has a better chance advancing in a higher position. Persons, with higher education become more marketable in the job market. Higher education develops new skills. Obtain a degree also helps a person improve their image in family and social circles. After returning from my vacation and giving a lot of though, I felt it was time to finally obtain my degree. These are some of my future goals and expectations. First of all, preparing myself physically and mentally, I know from the start this meant I will need to fully apply myself. They’re going to be days, I might feel I can’t handle the pressure, want to take a break or even go to the beach, but I’m determine to finish this time around.
