Background
Over the course of time, technology has evolved at Fresno State’s campus. There have been number of technology resources that have been allocated to different parts of the campus community. Nonetheless, even with numerous advancements that have occurred in the campus, there are various technological struggles that the university has to deal with. Many times, the difficulty in furthering the technology stems from students, faculty, and staff that are reluctant to change. There are multiple departments all around the campus that are affected by the technological changes. Furthermore, adopting a new technology can be a lengthy process and includes five steps: innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority, and laggards. Slowly but surely, Fresno State is taking steps to reassure the members of campus to adjust to the continuous evolving technology. One of the biggest changes that Fresno State should be considering in expanding technology is their Learning Management system. The biggest struggle of implementing a new Learning Management system is the degree of time along with other factors such as:
Cost and how many financial resources are required to successfully implement the LMS around campus.

Rogers “Diffusion of Innovation explains how, over time, an idea or product gains momentum and diffuses through a specific population or social system. The end result of this diffusion is that people, as part of a social system, adopt a new idea, behavior, or product.” There are five established adopter categories, and while the majority of the general population tends to fall in the middle categories, it is still necessary to understand the characteristics of the target population.
