As lifelong learning continues, it is important to focus on patients and family outcomes through teamwork collaboration, advocating, effective communication, and equally, self-driven to accomplish goals to create and coordinate activities to promote professional development, is why I have chosen to apply for the ambulatory nurse educator
I am truly eager about the possible chance to be a part of this program and ultimately becoming a nurse. It's sincere enjoyment, along with my life experiences and commitment to my objectives that set me apart from other
As a hopeful future undergraduate at IUPUI, I am eager to participate in the nursing program. Currently I am taking a class at my high school that will allow me to become a certified nursing assistant if I pass the state exam. Although I have only started this school year, I can tell that I have found my passion through nursing. With this simple goal, I plan to focus on my school work and dedicate my time at IUPUI. Besides the school aspect, I also want to participate in numerous extracurricular activities offered.
In order to develop my skills, I would need to find a program that would challenge me professionally and guide me to the knowledge to become an advanced practice nurse. In the summer of 2013, I reached out to the FNP coordinator at UTC to seek her guidance and to determine if perusing a career as a FNP would be possible. She suggested I take a course and see if this was truly what I wanted to do. In August 2013 I began my first course, advanced
They showed me that nurses are incredibly kind hearted people, who are always there for their patients. This is a large part of why I want to be a nurse; I want to be able make a true difference in the lives of others. I want my life to mean something, and being able to make a true difference in the world fills me with a sense of purpose. Through the program with North Shore I was also shown how nurses have the most time one-on-one with their patients. This is incredibly important to me, and a major reason why I want to be a nurse because I want to bond and make a connection with my patients and make the most positive impact I can in their
As an individual with a passion of stepping into the lives of others during testing times towards making life easier, I am determined to develop a fulfilling career as a nurse practitioner. Having graduated in BSN from Barry University in 2014, currently I am serving the emergency department at SMH as a registered nurse. My fervor of transforming into an impeccable nursing professional through sharpening my knowledge and skills has inspired me to continue my education. At present, I am enrolled for the Master of Science in Nursing program at the Nursing School of Barry University and getting specialized in Nurse Practitioner Acute Care. I look forward to graduating in 2020.
“The breadth of the role has expanded from a 9-to 12-month formal preparation beyond the basic nursing program to a master’s level and now to doctoral preparation in family health, pediatrics, gerontology, adult health, women’s health, neonatal
Ever since I acquired my first bysicle at the age of six, I was certain that biking would forever be my favorite pastime. I felt like I could go on my bike for an eternity and never become fatigued. If I were to ever get lost, my supreme navigational skills would place me back on the right track, or so I thought. My belief was soon to be challenged Fresh out of my junior year of high school, summer was in full swing. Only having my phone and a bottle of water, I hit the streets.
My impression of the Nursing Resource Center is that it is an awesome place for students to learn during clinical. The task trainers and the high- fidelity simulations provides students the opportunity to practice cognitive dynamics of real scenarios. This gives the students an opportunity to make mistakes and better themselves. As a student, the resources available to me within the lab throughout the rest of my nursing education will be very beneficial. Resources such as the faculty, educators, and the simulation models will help students enhance care for future patients, learn how to maneuver during simulates scenarios, and receive the maximum help possible.
The strong Lutheran foundation at Valparaiso University that prepares students to lead and serve in the community. In addition to the church, and society offers me the opportunity to pursue a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. The university's foundation and family-centered focus make it a great place for work-study. Although no one ever suggested that my journey to become a Registered Nurse would turn out to be a faith-based journey, I transitioned from Medical Assistant to Registered Nurse in 2017. I enrolled in an LPN program with only 12 weeks until graduation, but the school closed with no further information.
Thus, Mason et al.’s (2016) focus on educational opportunities is an excellent framework. While continuing education is an obvious means, the power of internships, fellowships, and especially volunteer service should not be underestimated. Volunteer work is particularly useful for developing specific leadership skills and unique experiences, such as grant writing, or interaction with and perhaps even a seat on a board that influences a nursing organization (Roux & Halstead 2017, 116-117). These are invaluable potential opportunities for learning and interacting with
E.J. feels that throughout the years she has been able to adapt her teaching style to meet the needs of her students. Diverse active teaching strategies are now what she uses to present nursing material to the students instead of the old way of using teacher-centered lecture based style. E.J. has noticed a dramatic change in the type of students attending the institution and to produce successful graduates, faculty need to adapt and this is a very important part of Competency I. The NLN states for Competency II that helping nursing students develop as nurses integrates values and behaviors that are expected is a responsibility of a nurse educator (NLN, 2013, Utley, 2010). E.J. started her role as a faculty member and today is the director of the nursing program.
Nursing is a most trusted and gratifying profession. As a nurse educator, I will express my passion for teaching by incorporating features such as clinical assessments, practical application of theory, evaluation, and role modeling into advanced nursing practice, from previous experiences and current experience and clinical practicum to find success and gratification in students chosen profession as well empowering leaners to develop their own strengths, beliefs, and personal attributes to become a good professional. Personally, I do have a positive attitude towards the personal and professional growth, and value ongoing learning and will stive to instill the same into my students learnig journey .. My objective as a Nurse Educator
I was fortunate to be able to observe academic education of nursing students at DeSales University. This education was held in a classroom setting on Mondays and Wednesdays. My observation time was 16 hours in which I observed Alyssa Robertson prepare for class, prepare exams, give lectures, provide hands on education, assist students in learning, and provide support to students. I also observed many student interactions and learning techniques. The learners were NU 220 Pharmacology and NU 230 Therapeutic Nursing Interventions students.
Today, I am glad I choose nursing because I have overcome my social fears, learn to be a team player, learn how to prioritize and most importantly learned to manage stress. Lastly, I grew as a nurse with each semester because I learned how to respect and treat each patient as a unique individual. I have also learned to put my patient safety as my priority and provide presence because I realized through my clinical experience that, sometimes that all the patients need. Below is the breakdown of how I have developed each semester in nursing school. FALL 2013 • Foundations of Nursing: NUR 2310
