Cornish (2002) sent a questionnaire to parents to determine which parents tried dietary intervention such as a GFCF diet, how much money was spent to maintain the GFCF diet, what type and which food substitutes were used and how much support was given to the families. Each of the guardians had to fill out a 3 day food diary to determine the nutrients each food and drink was consumed by the children (Cornish, 2002). A computer program called Microdiet 9.1 analyzed the amount of nutrients and compared the results to other children by the same age and sex (Cornish, 2002).
