Have you ever taken the time to wonder about what types of foods you have been putting into your mouth before? Well, did you know that the foods we are buying and eating daily are being genetically modified for companies own profits. Therefor, these head officers in their companies are not even thinking about the severe health issues that can occur in the near future towards humankind. GMO stands for genetically modified organisms, what this means is that an organism or microorganism whose genetic material has been altered to contain a segment of DNA from another organism. GMOs are also known as genetically modified organisms, which are living organisms whose genetic material are or has been artificially manipulated in a laboratory through a process of genetic engineering. These foods that the community is consuming are resulting from alterations of the genes of plants and animals in order to improve certain characteristics of the original species. For example, the companies such as Monsanto and Syngenta are the companies who are distributing the foods that contain GMOs. Inside those walls, there are scientists who are mixing two different types of organisms into one. This two organisms will then make the final product after all the alternations on both gens of the organisms and the added chemicals that have also been alternated as well are finally completed. Then in the end, these foods are put on the shelfs in markets for us as the consumers to buy and eat them after all those GM foods been through. Another fact about GMOs, is that when you see the original organism and then the alternated organism, you can see why companies are making so many different types of crops or organisms being GM. Therefor, if you ask me what GMOs mean to me I would say it means bigger and more healthier foods I suppose. But truth be told, is that the companies are there just making foods that are twice or triple times larger than their original size and also making us believe that they are containing more nutritious vitamins for us to be
