I believe that I am a good candidate for Year Up because of my determination, hard working mindset, and personal values that will contribute to the Year Up program.
You will have to monitor your progress, analyze your weaknesses, and modify your study plan once in a while. Private
I am writing this statement to explain my undergrad GPA. While attending Norfolk State University my GPA dropped my sophomore year because of my involvement in our school band and dealing with stress from been away from home. My involvement in band took time away from my studies; once I realized this I stop participating in band and concentrated on my studies. As my transcript will show once I stopped band my GPA slowly raised to a 2.7. I reached this GPA by working hard in subjects that were difficult to me such as mathematics and working with my teachers pass the class.
There should be a specific plan to follow once assessing all situations, barriers and consider taking any alternatives to complete my action plan and achieving my six goals. The remaining time I have to complete my Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Kaplan University, I plan to complete all of my assignments and discussions ahead of time prior to the due date, for which will give me the opportunity to keep my grades up and achieve my goal of maintaining a 3.5 or higher grade point average. I understand the issue of always being busy, especially when having kids and a family, but with the support of my lovely mentor and boyfriend, I feel that I can make time to complete whatever it is that I need and not let any barriers get in the way. Therefore, I intend to plan accordingly with our schedules, making room and time for me to study and complete my goal of sitting for the certified nursing exam to obtain my certification.
DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1ST Statement of Intent: Please briefly state your reason for wishing to attend LMU and/or how you came to select your major. I was initially attracted to the city of Los Angeles and had been looking into colleges in the area. My friends told me about LMU and I was immediately drawn to the emphasis on community service as well as the academic rigor all at a beautiful school. I have known I wanted to be in the health care field since I was young and I specifically selected the Health and Human Sciences major at LMU.
In order to truly excel in any endeavor, three qualities must exist in a human being; a passion for something you love, a natural born talent, and a desire to achieve success against all obstacles. The world is loaded with individuals with varying gifts, passions, and aspirations. Many people possess one or two of these qualities simultaneously but a miniscule amount of the population can attest to owning all three of these attributes in any given subject matter. I can vehemently say that within the educational sphere I excel in mathematics and enjoy success in the workings of technology outside of the classroom.
To extend my learning, I plan on broadening my sources and my mind to new things. I have the book websites that we were given for this course saved on my computer for use later on in classes and when I become a teacher. To refine my learning, I plan to focus on the information that will better my knowledge rather than the unimportant information. I will narrow it down to the information from my teachers now rather than looking for it on the internet. As a learner, I like to do hands on activities and projects and out loud assignments rather than essay 's or self-work projects.
It is January and my semester just started couple weeks ago. It is time to get started and focusing in what goes around during this semester, laziness, procrastination will not help me to achieve what I am looking for. I have to set up my goals and study hard to learn. It is time to think about what would go right and what would go wrong and how I can make this semester my best yet. Crate and stick to a study schedule, is a common goal among college students.
Social institutions are structures and mechanisms of social order that serve to fulfill the needs of society to control and regulate behavior. In general, social institutions are not placed but rather relationships, obligations, and functions. Most importantly, institutions are crucial to society because their main purpose is to socialize the group of people within that institution. Other important functions of social institutions include controlling individuals by defining social values, providing stability by organizing society and its people, and defining social roles. Over the past few days, I realized that family and education are the major social institutions that govern my life.
Based on my experiences, I consider the School of Business to be like a large family, as cheesy as that may sound. There are people all around you who want to see you succeed and are willing to lend a helping hand if need be. I could not have graduated if it wasn’t for the professors, faulty, and students that can be found throughout the school. They understand that we are looking for something better in life and that we are willing to work for it. I know I came to the school with only the idea of graduating with a degree
The school of my dreams resides in the melting pot of the world 's most sophisticated theories and ideas - New York City. Compared to the institute I am enrolled in now, New York University would provide me many opportunities to become exposed to different cultures and ideologies given the diversity of New York University’s students and New York City’s population. New York University would further expose me to diversity and submerge me in creativity and individuality that cities such as New York City thrive on. My focus as an International Business Student would greatly benefit from these aspects of New York University as I hope to work in future environments where I am constantly introduced to, and interacting with people from all backgrounds.
“I’m going to go to Italy and take BUL3310 and also MAN4340”, I blurted out to my friends as we talked about our future endeavors. I remember saying this but not knowing how to really put those words into actions. Going to Florida State University, I wanted to take advantage of more than just the football games. I wanted to be able to travel, grow, and learn. Maximizing my resources is an important trait to have in regards to actually being in college.
8. Strategize – Prepare according to the weightage given to different topics. Lay more stress on the topics which carry more weightage. Solving the previous year papers or mock papers can give a clear insight about the pattern of the exams. Try to keep these in mind before you kick start
I will make monthly ‘due date’ and weekly ‘to do’ lists to help me stay organized. My weekly schedule will consist of readings, small assignments, projects, and studying for upcoming exams. My monthly schedule will include larger topics like exams, papers, large assignments, and group projects. I will keep both of these lists on my computer and other personal devices using Outlook Calendar and I will reflect on them daily. To get the best marks possible and to get the most out my time at university, I will take advantage of the HSB mentoring program, the Student Success Center, and studying with friends.
This way I will not have to cram any class material before the exam day. I will continue to have a to-do list and complete all my daily tasks along with homework that I set up for my days of the week. I considered myself an active student back in Farmington. Which this leads to my third short term goal of being more active on UNM campus. I will schedule a meeting with my advisor to plan out my next semester schedule.
