Based on my experiences, I consider the School of Business to be like a large family, as cheesy as that may sound. There are people all around you who want to see you succeed and are willing to lend a helping hand if need be. I could not have graduated if it wasn’t for the professors, faulty, and students that can be found throughout the school. They understand that we are looking for something better in life and that we are willing to work for it. I know I came to the school with only the idea of graduating with a degree but now I have a whole new outlook on life. I see possibilities and career opportunities I never thought was possible. Still, I know it is a scary feeling making such a change in your life so I have some guidance I would like to offer. One is from the perspective of a transfer student and the other an accounting student of which I am both.

Do not be afraid to ask questions. Most likely there are several other people who do not understand the same concept. Also you will find that several concepts will appear in more than one class such as bonds. They are everywhere, but I can honestly say I understand them in every aspect. Now I am sure if you have ever talked to a business student you will find out that group work is found in almost every class. Fortunately, this is true and even though it may scare you it is the best possible opportunity for you to have. As every professor will tell you, group work is a main focus for many firms. So having the ability to practice your group management skill is good to have. I, personally, am an introvert, but after doing so much group activities I have no problem working with others and, in fact, welcome
