Have you ever wondered who discovered the laws of physics and some of our solar system? Well, it just so happens to be Galileo Galilei. I chose this famous astronomer/ scientist because he has inspired me to follow my dreams not let anyone tell me that I cannot do something. I believe that Galileo discovered some amazing things and he was placed in this world to show people that there is more to life than what you can see with your eyes. Even though his father wanted him to become something that he was not Galileo turned the other way and followed his dream. With that being said let’s move on with it!

In this book, he established the imperfection of the heavens by describing dark patches on the sun’s surface. He also said that he preferred the idea that the earth orbited the sun. Galileo also wrote that the words of the Bible had to be interpreted based on modern science and was incorrect. Therefore, the church became mad at Galileo. Galileo was then banned from coming or going back to church. Later on Galileo was confined to house arrest near the city of Florence for eight years, during this time he was only allowed to have certain visitors. While on house arrest Galileo published his masterpiece in 1638. It was called the Discourses and Mathematical Demonstrations Concerning the Two new Sciences. The two sciences he described in this book were the science of materials and the science of motion. The book was later published in Holland after it was smuggled out of Italy. Then after the eight years of house arrest, Galileo Galilei died on January 8, 1642. He was only seventy seven years old when he died.
