Gay marriage is wrong because it goes against God’s law. Specifically, God’s law was given to our benefit and shows us how to become more like God. Leviticus 18:22 says, “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable” (NIV). “Do I support gay marriage? No, I don’t” (Cameron). Clearly, love is between a man and a woman because two of the same sex cannot have children. To conclude, gay marriage is a sin. God established rules about marriage before governments were ever established. The opening book of the Bible states “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (ESV Gen. 2:24). Jehovah’s Witnesses believe:

LGBT couples who are able to marry can receive the same tax breaks that straight couples do and are also able to adopt children. Married LGBT couples can also access the same assistance as heterosexual couples and are afforded the same amount of protection under the law. Another opinion is to minimize discrimination. Removing the restrictions on gay marriage removes the stigma that gay and lesbian couples are forced to live with. It shows a society that gay and lesbian couples are not lesser beings and also that it is not okay to discriminate against them or treat them with any level of disrespect. Homosexuality is indeed sin. Along with all other sins, it reaps the judgment of God and scripture confirms that. The Bible and Christian view of homosexuality is that it is wrong, but God’s grace offers freedom from sin to all people. God’s grace can bring new life and help every step of the way.
