GTS Organization Charter
Purpose: To communicate the principles of our new GTS Department, formerly known as the Technology Department including organizational structure, vision, mission, goals, strategies and values.
The department is retitled “GTS” (Gilsbar Technology Services) to better communicate our mission of being Gilsbar’s technology services provider of choice. The GTS Department is the company’s consolidated technology management and implementation team. This department will leverage the use of consistent and repeatable processes based on best practice industry standards relating to technology advancement.

Guiding Principles
GTS will drive operational efficiency, consistency of outcomes, reliability of systems and services provided as well as hardiness in the tools conducting the work of Gilsbar. These principles recognize the reality of our environment and the needs of the business:
• IT resources demand a team effort which requires business resource collaboration to succeed.
• We adhere to the axiom of Good, Fast or Cheap and the reality that we only have the ability to address any 2 of these demands simultaneously.
• We view and prioritize daily requests based on Needs, Wants and Desires. Needs are the items that will receive the highest priority, wants will be validated and noted for future consideration based on existing demands and availability of resources. Desires will be noted and logged for addressing in an opportunistic fashion should resources become

• We will conduct our responsibilities in a professional manner consistent with Gilsbar policies & values and industry norms.
• We hold the entire team accountable for outcomes. Either we all win or we all lose, but it happens together.
Building GTS Based on Gilsbar’s Needs
In our present environment, we use dissimilar and disconnected approaches to accomplishing planned activities such as projects and process improvement efforts. We will develop core competencies in the areas of assessing, implementing and supporting technology activities across the company to better position us for consistent success. This focused approach will enable more reliable performance and faster delivery of identified requirements regardless of the scope of the effort.
The establishment of a new departmental identity with clearly defined service offerings is one component we can leverage to accomplish the following transformation goals:
1) Move away from past perceptions of Technology as an “order taker” and non-responsive.
