Today in this society, many people look at the way others live based on their gender and culture, but majority of the time we have to act like we’re faking everything. It isn’t fair because everyone feels the need to fake everything just to be accepted and that’s not right. A very educated women that goes by the name of Jessica Bennettjan wrote an article named “Campus Sex...With a Syllabus” on January 9, 2016 and she explains about a new tradition such as sexual assault, sexual consent, and rape that occurs at college campuses or just about anywhere. Now as another author by the name of Judith Brady wrote an article named “I Want a Wife” in 1970 describes how every man should have this ideal wife, giving the audience a sarcastic tone which …show more content…

There are some differences between both male and females but something is always expected out of one gender more than the other. Differences between the genders is how we walk, talk, or act and a lot more especially how its expressed into these two articles based on their situations. For example, males are always expected to be the big guy and be out working and be dependent towards others. Now females are expected to stay at home, watch the kids, and help out around the house. As a female, it is sad that us women are expected this certain type of role but that’s just the way society works. Of course there is a lot expected from men also but from women we are walked on all over and half the time no one realizes how we feel and how this can affect us. Although I am not a man, it is not fair for men to be criticized about how they are the big guy and their decisions and actions are expected to be the right choice. Gender norms in this society has taken over big time and it is sad to see how some people are majorly affected by this or how they are starting to act. Society is changing how we are as an individual and the things we want to do. It’s like we are being cloned because we’re expected to do what society wants us to do. It should not be like this at all, every individual should be unique in their own way and not be trying so hard to be able to fit in. Gender norms is a big issue in society today because its causing people to get their feelings hurt and feeling like they need to do the most just to try and fit in and this is a huge discussion to talk
