As it was suggested to start fresh, I was thinking to continue my journal with my current stage, which according to Erikson, is the seventh stage as Generativity versus stagnation. Erikson suggested, during this time, one strives to create and nurture things that will outlast them. Well said! I certainly relate to this suggestion, as I am on my way to successfully complete the counseling program (just a little more). Couples of years ago I have decided to change my career path with in mind to contribute to positive changes that benefit others as a great counselor. I truly believe contributing to society and doing things to benefit future generations are important needs at the generativity versus stagnation stage of development. I could not be happier if I can make differences in someone’s life. Although a few weeks ago when interruption took place in working toward my degree, I have thought that maybe counseling isn’t for me. I know my head was spinning and could not think clearly. At that moment certainly I entered into stagnation phase in which I felt disconnected and uninvolved with society as a whole. Fortunately, this hesitation hasn’t lasted long and I found myself on track in moving forward. What a great response!

Speaking of middle adulthood that covers a relatively long period of time (34-60) where we/I have opportunities to review and revise my commitment and goals, and make decisions, I still think that I had to make a final decision about my career path since I am closer toward filthy year in which my goal is by the time
