Here we are told what happened on the first day. So, class, what did God create first? That’s right.; He created light and darkness first. Did anyone noticecatch how God made light and darkness? Right again!That’s right; God spoke themit into existence. God created things by just telling themit to be created. Isn’t that neat?
If you keep reading, you find that by speaking God created the sky simply by speaking. He made some of the Earth’s water from the earth risego up into the sky, which is why we have clouds. However, God had not yet created rain. Then on the third day, He told the water to separate into seas (, or oceans,) and dry land, and He made all the plants and trees.
