People all across the nation have growing concerns of what is really in their food. Specifically Genetically Modified Organisms(GMO). The concern with GMO's is that many believe they can be unhealthy and even harmful to our healthy. Yet there has been no scientific linkage between consuming GMO's leading to healthy problems. The Consumers want all foods to be labeled with information telling if a certain product contains GMO's or not that way consumers can feel safer knowing what is in their food. There are many food producing companies that are against the whole idea because they fear that with the labeling products containing GMO's, that consumers will see it as a danger or "warning" label and mislead them to think GMO's are bad or unsafe. The main issue is consumer want to know what is in their foods and there are many who oppose to the option.

The producers believe that it will push consumers away from buying their products resulting in a loss of profits. Consumers belief that they will feel more comfortable about what they are buying and be more willing to buy more. The picture many are missing is there are big food producers that have already given into the GMO labeling such as General Mills and Campbells and they are doing fine in the markets. We need GMO labeling to gain trust back in the consumers. Many are hesitant in what to buy because they are unaware what is really in their food. This is why adding GMO labels to products will benefit the consumers as a whole. If consumers are happy with the products then they will buy more, if they more than the producers benefit as well. If food consumption increases it can affect the supply and demand of the food markets by increasing consumption will lead to more products needing to be produced to meet the needs driving prices to lower,
