The main characters in the book are Percy, Grover, and Annabeth. The story is told in first person of course by Percy. He tells his adventures and how he discovers what he really is. He goes through many terrifying things, some involve monsters others include tragic things.
The book I chose to read was “The Glass Castle” by Jeanette Walls. “The Glass Castle” was memorable because it gave me an idea about the diversity of each person. The story was told through the perspective of a young girl who does not understand right from wrong because she believes what her father tells her. I think this book is popular because it expressed ideas that are typically thought of as wrong or ideas that many turn away from. The author included outstanding imagery that puts the reader into the shoes of the main character.
Jessie L. Cypret Professor Eric Brower Humanities 195 29 November 2016 The Allegory of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe The story of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe is one that is told as a simple children’s book and beloved film to people all around the world. While this is true, C.S. Lewis, the author, hid a much deeper meaning to his story in the pages of his book.
However, in the movie the crucial characters were Ender, Valentine, and Petra. Ender Wiggin, is a boy who is six as the book embarks, but is thirteen years of age, presumably, as the movie begins. It is revealed early on in the book that Ender is a 'third' which means he is a third child, which is unusual in the society because of the population restraints. The fact that Ender is a 'third' is important as he is a mixture of his terribly violent brother, Peter; but he is
The Lion the Witch and the wardrobe is a movie based off a book written by C.S. Lewis. The movie has many parallels to the Paschal Mystery; which is the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However the plot of the movie is not similar to the Paschal Mystery, they are very different. But their are moments in the movie that are similar to Jesus’ Life, in the time of His crucifixion.
In The Hobbit Tolkien, uses a tremendous amount of detail in describing the characters in the book. The author makes Beorn out to be both kind but mysterious. A man who is blunt, with towering height, and has immense strength. Beorn has a peculiar way of showing his anger. Surrounding himself with animal friends because he rarely gets along with humans or Goblins.
The first element in Tyre’s theory is “(1) those who hunt for treasure” and The Hobbit obviously follows by this first step because that is what the ‘unexpected journey’ is (Tyre 2). In this novel, Bilbo is introduced to us as a typical hobbit because he “never had any adventures or did anything unexpected” (Tolkien 4). Fortunately, Gandalf led Thorin and his company to attain Bilbo as their exclusive burglar. This is where The Hobbit begins to relate to Tyre’s theory because treasure is actually being hunted. At this point, Bilbo is beginning his journey physically and spiritually.

I would have to say that one of many books that has helped to form my understanding of my faith is actually the book called Daisy Head Mayzie by Dr. Seuss. This story is about a girl who at the very beginning of the story is just like everyone else though rather quickly it becomes apparent, when she sprouts a daisy on her head, that she is rather different from everyone else. Over the course of the book she faces teasing and fame along with the desire to be normal and hating all of the attention. When I look back and try to imagine what I was thinking while reading this book it is initially hard because I was five years old when the book came out.
She wishes to attend the King’s festival. A baker and his wife wish they could have a child. The last one character’s name is Jack. He wishes that his cow, Milky White, would give milk. The old witch lives neighbor of The Baker’s.
My favorite author was the writer for Goosebumps when I was 4 years old and we read many books from the Goosebumps series. I also developed an interest in chapter books. I was in the second grade when my mom and dad would read to me these books. We read together the Hobbit, Phantom Tollbooth, and Percy Jackson series. I also read some current events on my own in school.
Among them, I really like the character of piggy because it looks like to my dad. This is because, in the story, he apparently looks like a minor role as he is a fat chubby boy with glasses on. I think he is the smartest person in the children and the grey eminence to help people savior since he is the one who uses the academic knowledge to solve problems. More Than that, he owns the glasses which help to make a fire. Hence, I am highly recommended intermediate or high school students read it because the writing skills of the Author is really good, student can learn a lot from it.
Resilience is known as bouncing back from the adversities and bringing in strength to cope to difficulties. Adversities happen at personal, community and organisational level. Resilience allows the person to come out of the adversity, rather than staying with it and to move forward further. This is a way of maintaining positive mental health and maintaining one’s own well being in the midst of adverse conditions. It enables a person to maintain positive health in the midst of challenges (Mowbray, 2011).
The novel I have chosen is “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” by J.K. Rowling. Which is one of the most well-known children’s novel in the world. It is about an 11 year old boy called Harry who before now has lived a very hard life with relatives who don’t like him. He suddenly discovers that he is, in fact, a wizard and is to be thought at the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This is where he finds out that he is famous in the wizarding community, for defeating Voldamort as a baby.
