George and Lennie run away from the last ranch they worked on, because Lennie scared a woman, and they find new ranch to work on. Lennie, who loves living beings, especially soft and fluffy, plays with mice all the time, but he can’t control his power and every time it ends with death of his pet. George promises, that he’ll find a puppy for Lennie, because puppies are not as fragile as mice. Two friends have a dream, in which they have their on house with cow, pigs, chickens and rabbits, for Lennie to pet. On the ranch they meet Slim, who is their superior and who has a dog with puppies, so he gives one to Lennie. Very soon comes Curley, son of the Boss, who dislikes Lennie instantly because of his size. Curley is abusive, always jealous to his wife, who likes to talk to the workers, and he’s always looking for opportunity to fight with someone. Once, old man Candy, whose dog ranch people shot, hears about George and Lennie’s plans and dreams and want to join them – he says, that he can help with money, and all three are happy, because their dream seems to come true, but suddenly comes Curley, who can’t find his wife. He is crying at the body, when Curley’s wife comes and starts a conversation. She lets Lennie touch her hair, which are very soft, and Lennie is so fascinated by it, that he doesn’t want to stop, can’t control himself, so woman ends up as mice did. Lennie is confused and scared and runs to a place, where George told him to hide, if he has troubles. Soon everybody knows, what happened and they go after Lennie. Curley is furious and promises to kill Lennie by his own hands. George doesn’t come with the others, he finds Lennie first, but knows, that there is no way to save him.
