The boss was mad at George and Lennie for coming late. So when Geroge and Lennie go to the room, Lennie finds bug spray and he thinks that his room has bugs. We find out that Lennie's last name is Smalls and George's last name is Militon. The atmosphere in the ranch and bunkhouse is kinda tense in my opinion.
In John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men”, Lennie and George travel together to work. They discuss the trouble they experience with Lennie's touching things he shouldn't and how that forces them to run, hide, and constantly search for work. Throughout the book, Steinbeck gives just a small picture of all the trouble Lennie has caused and how George continues to guide him to get by. A problem with a girl leads us to chapter 1 and 6, and how they share in setting, but George and Lennie's interactions differ. The similarities and differences of chapter 1 and 6 show how Lennie and George's cohesive friendship with a bright future develops into a loving bond that had to end.

Name: Emilia Bradshaw Date: April 9, 2024 Teacher: Mrs. Felton Period 1 Brotherhood I had realized I met someone who would make my heart whole again. Loyalty, trust and honesty are all important things to look for in a friendship. When you meet someone with these characteristics, you feel free and worthy of something. I’ve learned how difficult it is to find good hearted people in this world, so when you do meet them, do not take advantage of their love. In The Mice and Men, you can see Lennie feels the same way as George.
Of Mice and Men is a short novella by John Steinbeck that illustrates the ranchers in the West during the Great Depression. It describes the loneliness, companionship, the impossibilities of the American Dream, and oppression of the ranchers in the state of California. Among them were two migrant workers named Lennie and George. While George is a quick-witted character who is a companion of Lennie and helps to solve a lot of problems in his daily life, Lennie is an ignorant character who can be better understood through looking into his thoughts, his interaction with others, and his actions.

Of Mice and Men has always had a bad vibe towards it, that is because the problems that are presented in the book are still relevant modern America.. John Steinbeck's masterpiece shows a world where the simplest dream can be extremely hard to achieve. Steinbeck shows that the 1930s is a place in time that cannot even be imagined in this modern time. The novella shows how the character deals with the feeling of uncertainty, loneliness , and how each character has their way of dealing with it. Every character has their only and well defined personality, some will have good morals and others will have bad morals. Characters will be victims or villains and some may even be both, one must understand the difference.
In John Steinback’s novel Of Mice and Men, George Milton and Lennie Small are two friends who share the same dream. Although George and Lennie are hopeful to achieve their shared dream, they fail to accomplish their goals. In the beginning of the novel, Steinback begins by describing the two men: George Milton as “small and quick”, and Lennie Small as “his opposite, a huge man” (2). Although they are different, they share the same dream of owning a little house and a couple of acres with different types of animals such as cows, pigs, and rabbits.
In the same riverbed where the story began, it is a beautiful, serene late afternoon. A heron stands in a shaded green pool, eating water snakes that glide between its legs. Lennie comes stealing through the undergrowth and kneels by the water to drink. He is proud of himself for remembering to come here to wait for George, but soon has two unpleasant visions. His Aunt Clara appears “from out of Lennie’s head” and berates him, speaking in Lennie’s own voice, for not listening to George, for getting himself into trouble, and for causing so many problems for his only friend.
Since this is my second time reading Of Mice and Men, I was able to look at it differently and more carefully than I was able to the first time; focusing more on the subtle things than on the main plot. What I found was that Steinbeck, the author of the book, does an impeccable job of describing how George and Lennie live. I loved how just by reading words I could get a vivid, clear, picture into my head. Although it took some time, I can now begin to understand and relate to the relationship between George and Lennie, who is mentally disabled, without having a relationship similar to it in my own life.
