Germinated Seeds Lab Report

203 Words1 Pages
This lab shows the amount of oxygen consumed by germinating seeds v. ungerminated seeds. Each seed was measured in a closed system respirometer. Each procedure was easy to understand once the lab continued. However, there were a lot of miscalculations when reading the syringe and calculating the volume for the germinating seeds. A better understanding of calculating volume would help support the results and accuracy in the experiment. Overall, the experimental hypothesis proved to be correct. The amount of cellular respiration did increase in the germinating seeds compared to the ungerminated seeds. The results showed the germinating seeds producing carbon dioxide in the closed system. The germinated seeds respired for four minutes before stopping.
