the article “Tim Kaine and the Democrats’ Defense of Abortion” wrote by Greg Phillips. The author mentioned how the Tim Kaine feeling and viewpoint of abortion changed after having children. He felt uncomfortable for killing innocent children mother's womb due excuse from their mothers. However, being pro-choice made him to understand more about women and how will affect them mentally and physically for having the child. The strongest argument for Time was that every women has right to choose abortion and there no way others would argue her reproductive choices.
Academically Gifted Advisor/Coordinator. Having someone dedicated to serving these kids, whom many say can take of themselves, is essential to helping our
Arts Board Application I believe that the arts are an essential part of any student’s curriculum. Not only does it enrich their lives, it teaches them skills such as the importance of practice and repetition in order to perfect their work; it teaches that perseverance and hard work shows in their creations; and that although mistakes are made, one can still make their mistakes into something great, as long as they don’t give up. This is why it’s important to have the arts represented in a school like Greenhill, where academics tend to be the main focus for many students. Other from ISAS and occasional concerts, students don’t often get to showcase their work to their peers. Too often during ISAS do students attend mostly Greenhill productions, and students who aren’t able to attend rarely see the hard work those in the Greenhill fine arts program put into their creations and performances.
Teaching Mathematics is, in essence, breaking tasks into a series of sequential steps and communicating the steps with others, which is much like writing algorithms. I have experience communicating and collaborating with diverse groups of people at many educational levels, and I know how to write documents suited for a variety of audiences. Parents, students, and the community as a whole are the “customers” of any school, and I have learned how to work well with all of these groups. Planning is one of my strengths, which I balance with staying flexible. Attention to detail and thorough documentation are areas I excel in, and I am good at finding novel approaches to solving problems.
The Epic of Gilgamesh is the world’s first piece of legendary writing based on the epic quest of the “greatest king on earth and the strongest super-human that ever existed”, Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh was taught to have been born two-thirds god and one-third mortal and even though he was a strong and powerful king, he oppressed and treated his people harshly. Due to Gilgamesh’s actions, his people would pray to the god Anu, “creates a wild man”, who is Enkidu, who later on becomes Gilgamesh’s rival and devoted friend later on in his journey after having a fight of strength once he saw Gilgamesh trying to sleep with a newly wed women. Enkidu was brought out of his wildness after accepting one of the temple harlots, Shamhat who offered herself sexually to him so he would put an end to the trouble he has caused in which he submits to her. In doing so Enkidu instantly loses “his strength and wildness, but he gains understanding and knowledge” which plays an important key element during the Sumerian dynasty.
Mrs. Kim Lallemand, a Saint Benedict alumna herself, has been teaching 8th grade math at Saint Benedict School for 18 years. In that time, she has become known for her outstanding teaching style which prepares students for the sometimes difficult transition from middle school math to high school math. “I AM VERY PLEASED TO SAY THAT MANY ALUMNI AND THEIR PARENTS REPORT THAT STUDENTS FELT PREPARED FOR HIGH SCHOOL MATH, IN BOTH BISHOP CARROLL AND THE PUBLIC SCHOOL.” In most cases during middle school, students have had the same math teacher for four years.
In conclusion, teaching methods, learning environment, education policy, attitudes towards math and other factors influence Chinese students and American students’ performance in math. There are certainly some aspects that America should learn from China in math teaching. Firstly, math teachers in America should take responsibilities to enhance their own qualification in math teaching. Secondly, a proper math standard should be discussed and decided on curriculum reform to make sure schools in the United States have the same goal to reach. Thirdly, American students should realize “mathematical capability is a key determinant of productivity in the society”.
I am applying to your Bachelor’s of Fine Arts: Acting for the Theater for the fall of 2017. I am currently in my second year of a Bachelor’s of Arts; majoring in Film Production with a minor in Drama at the University of New Brunswick. I am interested in your program because of its content and location. The content of the program seems to be what I am looking for; I am currently studying Drama at the University of New Brunswick and their program doesn’t offer what I am looking for.
In the first grade, students were to identify and describe a variety of natural sources of water, including streams, lakes and oceans. In addition, because this classroom contains the G/T cluster, the learning goals and objects allow these students and those of mixed abilities to scaffold off of one another. Therefore, not only are the gifted students interacting with their intellectual as well as their age
Then, in 5th grade, I took pre-algebra, and I realized that math could be taught in an interesting way. Since then, I have wanted to fix math education, and help students learn math better.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, Briona Mcall, as your child’s new teacher in K-2 CDC special education class. I was recently hired at Holston View Elementary School as Mrs. McMurray is moving to Hong Kong to teach special education. We are excited for her and wish her the best. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Special Education from East Tennessee State University in 2015. I completed my student teaching in Bristol at Anderson Elementary and Tennessee High School
It discusses the necessary involvement needed for students to achieve success in Math. The research discusses the growth that has found in students who have prior math teaching skills before enrolling in school. These students have shown to show growth and success throughout their school
A multicultural education approach to learning can help retain gifted minority students because it allows those students to become immersed into a world of education they may have never gotten. The beauty of multicultural education is that we, as educators, are taking the time to ensure our low-income and racial minority groups are receiving the education they deserve. Thomlinson stated when discussing some teachers approach to multicultural education and gifted minority students, “They made genuine efforts to understand students’ perspectives and consciously incorporated this knowledge into planning curriculum and instruction that were culturally and personally relevant. These teachers did not ask the students to displace the familiar with “something better,” but rather to learn to live in two worlds – to become multicultural.” It is all about getting to know those babies (whether they be a low-income group, high-income group, racial minority, ESOL, Special Education… it doesn’t matter), get to know their families, get involved with
Cotton (2016) suggests through research, that to teach mathematics, a teacher will effectively draw on three different forms of knowledge, which are mathematical subject knowledge, mathematics curriculum knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge. All three must be continually updated to keep professional development at the highest level of expectation. Williams (2008) acknowledged in his review of Mathematics Teaching in Early Years Settings and Primary Schools, that poor mathematical results in primary schools was a result of poor mathematical subject knowledge amongst primary teachers’, therefore recommending the introduction of a mathematics specialist in each primary school. Such recommendations however, should not discourage schools and teachers to gain appropriate and up to date training about mathematics, and over the past decade, programmes, and courses to enhance subject knowledge have become a key fixture
