Arts Board Application
I believe that the arts are an essential part of any student’s curriculum. Not only does it enrich their lives, it teaches them skills such as the importance of practice and repetition in order to perfect their work; it teaches that perseverance and hard work shows in their creations; and that although mistakes are made, one can still make their mistakes into something great, as long as they don’t give up. This is why it’s important to have the arts represented in a school like Greenhill, where academics tend to be the main focus for many students.
Other from ISAS and occasional concerts, students don’t often get to showcase their work to their peers. Too often during ISAS do students attend mostly Greenhill productions, and students who aren’t able to attend rarely see the hard work those in the Greenhill fine arts program put into their creations and performances. I have been in both visual and preforming arts here in Greenhill (video production and band). I am very hardworking in all my classes and have a passion for the arts. I have experience in communicating with others. I have dealt with sponsorships for the Greenhill Robotics team. Out of school, I have a job as a secretary for a clinic in which I talk to patients and schedule upcoming appointments, as well as keep track of revenue for the day. This requires me to be organized as well. I am also passionate about the arts, as I’ve said before. I maintain an art blog in which I update every week or so with sketches and art pieces. I wanted to get involved in digital art at Greenhill but sadly I didn’t have any time. Instead, I opted to draw graphics for the Evergreen as a way to pursue my passion.
