Giles de Rais was one of the first serial killers ever. He was born sometime in 1405 in September/October. 1 He passed away in 1440 on Oct 26. 1 He lived for 35 years. Rais killed in France, and the surrounding villages of Lord de Rais castle. He killed anywhere from 100-200, there is some that says he killed about 600 or even more, but that is hard to believe. 2 Giles de Rais was born Gilles de Montmorency-Laval in 1404. Rais was a bright child who wrote illuminated manuscripts, learned military tactics, and he spoke fluent Latin. The tragedy struck when de Rais was 10 years old, when his father Guy de Laval was killed in a hunting accident. Some say that the boy might have seen the incident, which was followed by months by the death of his mother, her cause of death is unknown. After all the tragedy’s Rais grandfather took him in. Holmes was a serial killer who killed in three distinct locations. Holmes was born on May 16, 1861, and passed away on May 7, 1896. 1 He lived about 35 years. The three dissimilar locations he killed at were: Chicago, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. 2 Holmes had about 27 victims he killed over the time he was active. 2 Holmes killed in between 1886-1894 which is about 8 years that he killed for. 2 H.H. Holmes was born into a wealthy family. He had showed signs of high intelligence, he also had a passion for medicine. In an article it said that he allegedly trapped animals and performed surgery on them. He went to get higher education at the University of Michigan. In 1884 he was almost unable to graduate school because he promised a girl to get married to her, which did not happen. 3 After graduation he moved to Chicago. Holmes was a serial killer, he fits the profile by, the first thing is that he had over 3 kills, which classifies as a serial killer, at an early age he captured animals and killed them, and then did surgery on them. 3 Holmes motive to kill people was to take their property.
