Two more theatre’s followed as the taste for theatre’s grew. The Curtain n 1557 and The Rose in 1587. I love the movie of Romeo and Juliet. I watched the Disney version about where Juliet and Romeo are gnomes its set as the same but it’s a little different but is also a really good movie.
Gnomeo & Juliet puts a fairy tale like spin on the classic Shakespearean tragedy, set to a collection of Elton John’s greatest hits, this animated rendition of Romeo and Juliet is full of vibrant colours and ridiculous puns. The film parodies itself, poking fun at the endless retellings of the same story and Shakespeare’s undeniable love for unhappy endings. Though this revival aims to reinterpret the story, its subtlety leaves much to be desired. Therefore, I have decided to give this film 3.5/5 vials of
The legacy of imperialism will has a never-ending hold on many, but not all, developing countries. Countries such as Somalia demonstrate how, even in the twenty-first century, imperialism still has a lasting effect. When Great Britain and Italy decolonized the two terrorities that would become Somalia, they did not make attempts to leave the colonies with a stable economy or infrastructure. In addition, colonized nations around Somalia refused to give Somalia parts of their land that were occupied by Somalians. Therefore, Somalia was left to build up enfrastructure and an economy with only a fraction of its citizens.
The single effect of suspense that Edgar Allan Poe establishes throughout “The Masque of the Red Death” makes the reader question what will happen to the people in the village. The first paragraph of the story explains what the Red Death is and what makes it suspenseful. “There were sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution” (Poe “Masque”). To add on to this, once someone contracts this disease, they only have 30 more minutes to live. This allows the readers to wonder what the people will do to avoid death.
In this movie, the Montagues and Capulets are two humans who live side by side as neighbors that share a duplex on Verona Drive in present day Stratford-Upon-Avon. Nevertheless, they live in feuding. The movie Gnomeo and Juliet did portray Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet accurately with a few minor detail changes. The family feud was the same in both the movie and Shakespeare’s play where the Montagues and Capulets did not get along based on unknown reasons. This was shown in Gnomeo and Juliet in the beginning of the movie where they had a lawnmower race. Tybalt, a Capulet, was racing Gnomeo, a Montague, on lawnmowers and Tybalt cheated and broke Gnomeo’s lawnmower. This scene represented the families rivalry because it showed how the families disliked each other and were willing to do anything to win even if they had to cheat.
In my U.S. History class, my teacher has an image of The Mona Lisa because there some history behind the picture. For example, who drew The Mona Lisa? Well, it was Leonardo da Vinci. Also, this portrait is one of the most famous portrait during the Renaissance. Back then wealthy people, like kings; nobles; etc., were able to afford the portrait, but now most people can afford it.
Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, originally published in 1597. It is a tragedy of two star-crossed lovers, who fall in love with each other despite their families hate. The play is taught in many schools and it is often coupled with a movie adaption of the play. There have been many movie adaptations of Romeo and Juliet done and yet there are only a few out of the five I have watched that I would recommend. The top one that I would recommend is the 1968 version, directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
